I was born and raised in Southern California in the Los Feliz area where both my parents grew up and where my dad still lives. I spent my time at home, school and in my dad’s hardware store that he owned for over 50 years. I attended Franklin Avenue Elementary School, Thomas Starr King Junior High School and graduated from John Marshall High School (as did my mother and father.) I am the oldest of 3. My sister lives in Dana Point and my brother and his family live in Pasadena.
I received my BA in child development from CSUN and my MA in special education and my credentials from CSLA. As I attended CSUN, I worked as a teacher assistant at the elementary school I attended with my first grade teacher, Connie Marshall. The parents called us “the Dynamic Duo.” My experiences with Connie made me the teacher I am today.
I live in the foothills of Altadena with my two pre-teens, Leah and Max, and our animal kingdom (3 cats, 2 dogs, 2 hamsters, a fish and a couple of bears who visit our front yard every once in a while.) My children and I rescue the animals who are abandoned by our house and they usually become part of our lives. We love to travel, especially to tropical, beachy locations and Lake Tahoe.
My children, my family, my friends and my LCHS family (students, staff and families) are very important to me. And chocolate is my best friend.
