Jarrett Gold became the Principal of LCHS 7/8 in 2015.  He previously served as the Assistant Principal of La Canada High School for the previous 4 years.  Before joining LCUSD, Dr. Gold served as a Dean of Students at William Howard Taft High School in Woodland Hills for 5 years.  Before becoming the Dean of Students he taught Chemistry, Health and Physical Education along with coaching Girls Soccer and Baseball.  He started his career at Portola Middle School where he served as a 8th grade Science teacher.

 

Dr. Gold has received numerous awards including a recognition from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for some of his work with HEART (Humane Efforts And Relating Together) which is a group he started at Taft High School to help at-risk youth.  He also was named CMSA employee of the year in La Canada in 2013.

 

Dr. Gold was born in the San Fernando Valley where he spent his entire childhood. He attended LAUSD schools from kindergarten until his graduation from Granada Hills High School. While in high school he participated in Baseball and Soccer.  

 

Dr. Gold still resides in the San Fernando Valley where he has a 5-year-old son, a 2 year old daughter and a wonderful wife. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and baseball, and going on vacation.
